§ Who we are
The Project
EKMC Maringá is the Maringá-PR unit of EKMC (Krav Magá Caveira), led by Iago Bonifácio as the unit's responsible instructor. It's not an independent school — it's a local unit applying the national Krav Magá Caveira curriculum with a Christian, edifying perspective. A dedicated physical space for the unit is coming soon; until then, training happens in partnership with local venues.

§ Why we train
Values & Christian Philosophy
We don't train to hit others. We train to protect who we love, to develop discipline and character, to glorify God with our bodies, and to serve as what Jesus called "wise sheep" (Matthew 10:16) — able to defend, but choosing peace whenever possible.
Self-control
"Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city." — Proverbs 16:32
The hardest fruit of the Spirit to develop (Galatians 5:22-23) — whoever loses control loses the fight, on the mat and in life.
Wise sheep
"Be as wary as snakes and as innocent as doves." — Matthew 10:16
Being peaceful by choice, not by weakness — capable of defense, but preferring peace, protecting the flock when necessary.
Precision
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." — Ecclesiastes 3:1
Acting at the exact moment, by the most direct path — no wasted movement, no hesitation once it's time to act.
The body as temple
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?" — 1 Corinthians 6:19
Training is a way of caring for the temple — physical discipline reflecting spiritual discipline, never used to destroy others.
Practitioner's Commitment
- — Use these skills only for legitimate defense
- — Seek peace whenever possible
- — Protect the weaker
- — Treat training partners with respect
- — Develop self-control on and off the mat
- — Remember the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
- — Give glory to God in every training session
Lord, make me a warrior who fights for peace. Let my hands be trained to defend, not destroy. Let my strength be used to protect the weak. Let my self-control outlast any technique. Let me be a sheep among wolves — but a wise sheep. And in the end, let me hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant." In Jesus' name, amen.
